‘Tis The Season

I can’t believe Christmas is only FOUR days away!  Normally I’m disappointed by how quickly the holiday comes and goes, but this year I feel like I made the most of it.  These past few weeks have been FULL of holiday cheer and — dare I say it? — I’m ready for 2014!  I hate to rush these final days of the year away, but I have so many wonderful things to look forward to.
Last weekend, my Momma Bear threw her annual Christmas cookie baking party.  The ladies of the family got together to bake dozens and dozens of treats to have and to share.  One of my favorite holiday traditions!
(And how cute is baby Rosie?!  I want to steal her.)
On Tuesday, my friends at the New York City Ballet hooked me up with tickets to see THE NUTCRACKER! I’ve worked in the city for almost 4 years and I’ve never been to a ballet at Lincoln Center. Disgraceful! The performance was beautiful and I was so happy that I got to share it with my little ballerina Hayley.
Perhaps the highlight of my month was a visit from one of my most wonderful friends, CATHERINE!
Backstory: Catherine was the first friend I made when I moved to LA in 2008. I was an intern on The Ellen Show and she had just started as a PA. We have been close ever since, even though I haven’t seen her in OVER THREE YEARS. The last time we were together was March of 2010. She put me in a cab on Hollywood Boulevard and sent me back to my apartment in the middle of the night, since I had an early flight home to catch. I’m pretty sure we were both crying. She was in NYC for work this week and it was so good to reunite. It truly felt like no time had passed at all. Love that girl.
The fun continues tonight with another ugly sweater party at my little brother’s place.  Rumor has it, there will be a deep fryer.  I’m pumped.

What’s making your season bright?

  1. I’m playing catch-up! Those cookies look delicious and so does your fantastic Buddy the Elf meal in the next post. Spaghetti and candy YES. I love those friends you can just see after the first time in forever and it’s like no time has passed. The mark of a true friend!
