So Long Sweet Summer
“When autumn comes, it doesn’t ask. It just walks in, where it left you last. And you never know when it starts, until there’s fog inside the glass around your summer heart.”
Another beautiful summer has come and gone. I’m trying not to cry.
My friends and I bid adieu to the season with one last weekend down the Jersey shore — complete with impromptu sing-a-longs, clam shooters, a couple bottles of scotch, an obscene amount of taco salad* and dance parties. Lots of dance parties.
Summer, it’s been lovely. Until next year…
*Triple C’s Famous Taco Salad:
1 head of iceberg lettuce
1 bag of shredded cheddar cheese
1 package of taco seasoning
3 diced tomatoes
1 package of ground meat
1 bag of smashed up cheese Doritos
…and some spicy ranch dressing!
(Don’t worry. It’s a salad so it’s healthy.)
