3 Great Things You Need to Know About

Alternative title for this blog post: GIRL POWER.

1. A Body Revolution:

I apologize if you are sick and tired of reading about Lady Gaga on my blog, but this movement is too great not to share.  (Especially since it is a cause that’s very near and dear to my heart).  Gaga has been getting a lot of attention recently — more-so than usual — and it’s all because she apparently “put on a few pounds.”

This week, in an effort to fight back against the media, she stripped down to her underwear and opened up about her struggles with her weight.  And now?  She’s encouraging her fans to do the same.

The movement, titled A Body Revolution, is meant to promote healthy body image. She’s given people a judgment free platform where they can go to share their flaws and embrace their imperfections.

Add this to the long, long list of reasons why I love Lady Gaga.  And if you honestly think she’s fat, you need to get your head checked.

Moving on…

2. FreelyBe:

I am so in awe of my friend Gracie.  On Friday, she launched an organization called FreelyBe with her friend Jessi.  (Sidenote: Aren’t they gorgeous?)

What is FreelyBe?  Here’s an excerpt from their (beautifully designed) website:

“We’ve built a platform to turn your social life into a social investment.  By attending our premiere events at New York’s most exclusive venues, FreelyBe members directly benefit non-profits working for social change.  First, with the FreelyBe Collective, FreelyBe hosts a monthly series of events for the social influencers in our city.  Secondly, FreelyBe Cultivate helps entrepreneurs, brands, and non-profits get their product or name out to social influencers in the city.  Thirdly, FreelyBe Bottle for Bottle allows Freely Be members to host their own party free of charge at an exclusive venue — all while benefiting charity.”

Do you live in New York City?  Do you like to party with your friends?  Do you like giving back to the community?  If so, I encourage you to sign up for a (free!) FreelyBe membership to get involved.  You won’t regret it!

3. This Quote:

“To Jay* and Bey, thank you for your friendship.  Jay knows what my life is like.  We both have daughters and our wives are more popular than we are.  So, you know, we’ve got a little bond there.  It’s hard but it’s okay.” – President Obama

Like I said before, GIRL POWER.

Are you registered to vote?  If not, what are you waiting for?

*1 week until Jay-Z in Brooklyn!

  1. That’s Gaga’s “fat” picture? She looks fabulous.

  2. Gaga is BOSS.

Also, Bama, Jay and Bey in the same room at the same time? My heart couldn’t handle.

  3. I have the utmost respect for Gaga’s body revolution movement. It’s about time!
